Shellyne Rodriguez has been fired from her position at Hunter College after she was caught on video threatening a reporter with a machete for daring to question her about a previous incident in which she screamed at students and violently trashed their pro-life display on campus.
The 48-year-old professor went viral last week after she was seen hurling expletives at pro-life students at the Manhattan-based college for trying to educate their fellow students about pro-life viewpoints.
During her expletive-filled rant, Rodriguez claimed that just displaying materials that call for the protection of unborn children was “violent.”
“This is bulls—t. This is violent. You’re triggering my students,” the professor can be heard saying in footage of the incident.
“You’re not educating s—t. This is f—ing propaganda. What are you going to do, like, anti-trans next? Is that what you’re going to do next?” Rodriguez asked the students.
“I mean, no. We’re talking about abortion,” one student replied.
Rodriguez continued to berate the pro-life students, accusing them of being “violent” and refusing to back down even after the students apologized to her.
“You can’t even have a f—ing baby. So you don’t even know what that is. You don’t even know what this is,” the professor said. “Get this s—t the f—k out of here. F—k this s—t.”
She then vandalized their table, shoving the pro-life materials off.

After the incident in which she clearly targeted and harassed a group of students solely because of their political and religious beliefs, Hunter College reacted by simply reprimanding Rodriguez.
However, the college has since fired Rodriguez after another violent incident, where she threatened a New York Post reporter with a machete.
According to the Daily Mail, “When asked about the incident at her home in the Bronx, Rodriguez drew a machete and held it to the throat of the reporter at her door, threatening to ‘chop’ him up. When New York Post reporter Reuven Fenton and his photographer colleague left, she followed them out the front door, machete still in hand.”
Footage of Rodriguez chasing one of the reporters around in the street with the machete has been shared on social media.

Hunter College spokesman Vince Dimiceli has announced that Rodriguez was fired shortly after the school learned about the incident.
“Hunter College strongly condemns the unacceptable actions of Shellyne Rodriguez and has taken immediate action,” Dimiceli said. “Rodriguez has been relieved of her duties at Hunter College effective immediately, and will not be returning to teach at the school.”
Rodriguez is also currently in the middle of a lawsuit against the New York City Police Department (NYPD) for supposed police brutality she experienced when she was arrested during the George Floyd riots.
“Rodriguez claims in her lawsuit that police officers pulled her hair, shoved her face into a gate and repeatedly punched her in the stomach,” according to the Daily Mail. “She was arrested in the Bronx and put in a police van with 14 others.”
The former professor also claims that NYPD officers bound her hands with zip ties for so long that she now has nerve pain. Police dropped the charges against Rodriguez in September 2020. Her lawsuit against the NYPD will reportedly resume in July of this year.
