Video: Denver City Official Begs Illegal Immigrants To Leave

Sobering video footage made its way across social media this weekend of a Denver city official begging illegal immigrants at a shelter to leave Colorado and depart for Chicago or New York City.

The official even offers to buy tickets to the Canadian border to send them there, telling the illegal immigrant families that Denver is out of money after 40,000 others arrived before them.

In the video, published by local NBC affiliate 9News, a city official named Andres Carrera speaks to the group of illegal immigrant families as their children play.

His title with the city is a doozy. Denver calls him its “Newcomer Communications Liaison.” His job is to greet and direct busloads of illegal immigrants arriving from south of the nation’s border.

The group Carrera spoke to in the video on March 26 included recent arrivals sent to Colorado by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) as part of his program to bus illegal migrants to liberal sanctuary cities where Democrats have promised to take them in and support them with their constituents’ tax contributions.

The video reveals the extent of the crisis at the U.S. border over immigration caused by the Joe Biden administration’s policy of stubborn refusal to enforce federal immigration laws that have been on the books for years, in what a growing number of Americans consider a dereliction of duty.

Carrera tells the illegal immigrants that the city’s resources for immigrants have been used up already by the 40,000 illegal immigrants who arrived in Denver before them: “We have received too many migrants and that is why we ran out of resources.”

He pleads with them to move on to bigger cities with enough left in their budgets to absorb the record-setting waves of illegal immigration, “New York gives you more. Chicago gives you more. So I suggest you go there, where there is a longer-term shelter. There are also more job opportunities there.”

“No, look, we are not going to block you if you want to stay here. I am not here to block you. I am here to let you know that your path is not over,” Carrera added.
