Obama Endorses Biden As America Declines Under The President

Despite an economy in disarray, the world in turmoil, and America suffering from the policies of the Biden administration, former President Barack Obama is throwing his support behind Biden, even as Democrats question the president’s candidacy for reelection in 2024.

Obama celebrated his 15th anniversary of having chosen Biden as his vice president in 2008. The ex-president shared a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, of the night he became the first Black president to be elected in America with Biden alongside him.

“For eight years, [Biden] and I worked to deliver change for the American people. I couldn’t have asked for a better Vice President and friend — and we’ll always be thankful to all the campaign staff and Administration alumni who helped bring that progress to folks across the country. Yes, we can. Yes we did,” Obama declared.

Obama’s support of Biden resembles a stark contrast from several left-leaning individuals who have suggested that the president hang it up and drop out of the 2024 presidential race, as reported by Breitbart News.

Interestingly, a former senior adviser for Obama, David Axelrod, recently brought forth the idea that Biden should drop out for the sake of the Democratic Party.

Axelrod argued that if Biden decides to remain in the race for president, former President Donald Trump could cruise to victory in 2024.

The ex-senior advisor’s comments come after a New York Times/Siena College poll showed Biden trailing in five of six battleground states, all of which he won in 2020.

Likewise, comedian Bill Maher, a leftist, recently called on Biden to sit out the 2024 presidential race, fearing that he could tarnish his presidency like former Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg did when she refused to leave her role near the end of Obama’s presidency.

“Someone has to convince President Biden that if he runs again, he’s going to turn the country back over to Trump and go … down in history as Ruth Bader Biden, the person who doesn’t know when to quit and so does great damage to their party and their country,” Maher said in October 2023.

Biden is also facing calls to leave the presidency by so-called “Never Trumpers” like Bill Kristol, who argued that the president should step aside, considering his old age.

“It’s time. President Biden has served our country well. I’m confident he’ll do so for the next year. But it’s time for an act of personal sacrifice and public spirit. It’s time to pass the torch to the next generation. It’s time for Biden to announce he won’t run in 2024,” Kristol recently said.
