While many Americans have to choose between paying their rent or getting medical attention, illegal immigrants are being supplied with “free” healthcare, courtesy of taxpayer dollars.
Analysis: Migrants Costing U.S. Taxpayers Billions for Free, Uninsured Health Care. I have a friend who is a veteran go to a local hospital ER in a diabetic coma. He waited 8 hours behind illegals before his wife finally drove 100 miles away to get care https://t.co/qXl7SUoDgU

Many illegal immigrants crossing the border have illnesses and diseases that require medical attention. Of course, when they enter hospitals, the majority of them are taking up beds and resources without any intention of paying the bill.
According to a Nov. 2023 report by the House Committee on Homeland Security, out of the estimated $451 billion it costs the country for the illegal immigration crisis, a substantial amount goes to cover their healthcare costs.
To make matters worse, California implemented a program that gives illegal immigrants free healthcare. An anonymous employee with a Southern California hospital said that the system is being “bombarded” by thousands of illegal immigrants needing medical services.
“Our healthcare system is so overwhelmed, and then add on top of that tuberculosis, COVID-19, and other diseases from all over the world,” she said.
Unfortunately for California taxpayers, this is costing them over $4.8 billion.
“Medi-Cal is already strained by serving 14.6 million Californians – more than a third of the state’s population,” according to California Senate Republicans. “Adding 764,000 more individuals to the system will certainly exacerbate current provider access problems.”
Arizona is also feeling the pressure. Dr. Robert Trenschel, CEO of the Yuma Regional Medical Center said that illegal immigrants in his town are a strain on the center’s human resources.
“Some [illegal] migrants come with minor ailments, but many of them come in with significant disease,” Trenschel stated during a congressional hearing last year. “We’ve had migrant patients on dialysis, cardiac catheterization, and in need of heart surgery. Many are very sick.”
Recently, Chicago saw several cases of measles, which originated in one of the city’s illegal immigrant shelters. Healthcare providers now have to use up resources to provide MMR vaccinations to illegal immigrants who need them.
According to The Epoch Times, last year’s surge of illegal immigrants was a new record high, surpassing over 3.2 million apprehensions.
Meanwhile, U.S. veterans are overlooked when it comes to healthcare. The men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our freedom have to wait around 34 days for an appointment that should take no more than three days with the VA and seven days with an outside provider.
