Since President Joe Biden took office, many countries have not taken the U.S. seriously. Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador threatened the Biden administration over the weekend, stating that if it didn’t give into Mexico’s demands, he would send even more illegal aliens across the border.
Speaking with CBS correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi for a “60 Minutes” interview, Obrador mentioned how he was able to help Biden decrease the number of illegal immigrants entering the U.S.
He said that he would continue to help with immigration if the U.S. gave $20 billion a year to impoverished countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, ended sanctions on Venezuela, ended the Cuban embargo and provided visas to millions of Mexican illegal immigrants living in the U.S.
When asked what he would do if the U.S. refused, Obrador said that he would release more illegal immigrants to the border.
“The flow of migrants … will continue,” he responded.
So now the Mexican leftist leader is threatening the United States with giant hordes of the illegal immigrants🤔 https://t.co/LJ9ODVeQVH

When asked if he saw that as “diplomatic blackmail,” Obrador said he was giving an honest answer.
“I am speaking frankly,” he said. “We have to say things as they are, and I always say what I feel. I always say what I think.”
Alfonsi asked the Mexican president if he would still help secure the border if the U.S. didn’t deliver to his demands, and Obrador said he would.
“Yes, because our relationship is very important. It is fundamental,” he said.
Obrador has sent several threats to the U.S. in recent years. A few weeks ago, he threatened to interfere in U.S. elections if Republicans refused to stop blaming Mexican cartels for the rising fentanyl epidemic.
The Mexican president threatened to skip the 2024 North American Leaders Summit in Canada next month “if he feels his country is being disrespected.”
He also threatened to not attend the 2022 North American Leaders Summit in the U.S. because Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela were not invited to attend.
With all of the threats and demands that Obrador has given the Biden administration, even the left has to admit that no country was bold enough to make threatening demands such as this when former President Donald Trump was in office.
So with Trump we had cooperation from Mexico at the border, with Joe shmoe this is the respect he gets from foreign nations:
This country is being led by a self serving weakling, and we are going to pay the price.https://t.co/ta6OhqVC6s
