Megyn Kelly Says Carlson Should Battle Fox In Court

Megyn Kelly, a well-known conservative commentator, has advised former Fox News host Tucker Carlson to break his contract and unleash his full potential against the network.

On Friday, Kelly tweeted, “Tucker should walk away & forfeit the pay. Let Fox take him to court over the sole issue of silencing him for the rest of the election season (!)-the man they fired & smeared relentlessly while he stayed silent. See how their dwindling audience repays them for that.”

In response to a report by Brian Stelter, previously with CNN, which disclosed that Fox News is only required to pay Tucker Carlson for his contract and not necessarily air his content, Megyn Kelly posted a tweet urging Carlson to reconsider his contract.

Stelter explained that Carlson is bound by a “pay or play” clause, indicating that Fox News is not obligated to air his content but rather pay him for the remaining duration of his contract.

The New York Times recently published a startling report which unveiled an impending conflict between Fox News and Tucker Carlson concerning the specifics of his contract. As a result, this development has led to the current discussions regarding Fox News’ obligation to air Carlson’s content.

The New York Times reported, “Tucker Carlson is making it clear to people close to him that he would like to be back on the air somewhere soon. But he first needs Fox News to agree to a deal that would allow him to work elsewhere.”

Tucker Carlson’s contract extends until January 2025, presenting a challenge as he may not be able to work elsewhere at the moment. However, if Fox News terminates his contract before it expires, as Megyn Kelly hinted at, then he would be free to accept offers from other networks or companies without pay concerns.

Various networks, including Newsmax, have shown a keen interest in Tucker Carlson. Last month, sources indicated that Newsmax was attempting to entice him by offering to let him program the entire channel, not just his show.

It’s worth noting that Newsmax has yet to officially offer Tucker Carlson a position since he is still under contract with Fox News. However, sources have confirmed that Newsmax has expressed their willingness to give Carlson complete control over the network.
