Trump: Bragg’s Case Is ‘Election Interference,’ Should Be Dropped

Former President Donald Trump addressed supporters at his Mar-a-Lago estate after being arraigned in a Manhattan courthouse, saying that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case “was brought only to interfere with the upcoming 2024 election and it should be dropped immediately.”

“Our elections were like those of a third world country,” Trump said after mentioning Hunter Biden’s laptop being dismissed as “Russian disinformation” during the 2020 election cycle.

Trump continued by mentioning George Soros, a liberal billionaire who financed Bragg’s campaign for district attorney in New York. In May 2021, Soros provided $1 million to the Color of Change Political Action Committee (PAC), which spent the funds on Bragg’s campaign.

The former president accused Bragg of campaigning on the premise that he would “get President Trump, I gotta get him. I’m gonna get him.”

“This is a guy campaigning. You want to get President Trump at any cost, and this before he knew anything about me. He didn’t know a thing about me. He was campaigning,” Trump added.

“As it turns out, virtually everybody that has looked at this case, including RINOs, and even hardcore Democrats say there is no crime and that it should never have been brought. Never have been brought,” Trump said, arguing that his critics agreed with that sentiment.

Trump then criticized President Joe Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal in August 2021, calling it an “embarrassment” in U.S. history. He also accused Biden of allowing the U.S. Military to become “woke” at its top levels by indoctrinating every soldier.

Trump then blamed Biden and other Democrats for harming the economy and allowing crime to reach its highest levels.

Trump promised that the U.S. would become energy “dominant within six months, more than any other nation times two,” if elected in 2024.

He also blasted “racist” Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’s investigation into a phone call between him and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger during the 2020 election, alleging that Trump attempted to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

“This fake case was brought only to interfere with the upcoming 2024 election. And it should be dropped immediately,” Trump said of Bragg’s case.

Trump pled not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records concerning “hush money” payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election.

Bragg’s prosecution of Trump is purely political, considering he is a Democrat. A Democratic district attorney should not be able to prosecute a Republican presidential candidate.
