Tim Ryan Gives Scathing Response When Questioned On Biden’s 2024 Plans

As various problems continue to arise with Joe Biden, more Democrats are finding creative ways to distance themselves from him.

One of those Democrats is none other than Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH). Ryan is in the middle of a reelection campaign with GOP candidate J.D. Vance challenging him.

Recently, the Ohio Democrat came out against Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan, stating it sends the wrong message to folks in Ohio who don’t have college degrees.

On Friday, the congressman was asked about his views on Biden’s plans to go for another term, leading to an interesting response.

Ryan on Biden Pursuing Reelection in 2024
While speaking with WFMJ, Ryan was directly asked if he believes it’s a good idea for Biden to run in the 2024 presidential election. To this end, the Ohio Democrat stated that “generational change” would be beneficial to politics.

After saying this would benefit both Democrats and the GOP, Ryan stated that Biden himself claimed he’d be the bridge to the next generation. Later, the congressman directly refused to endorse Biden, saying the choice to go for a second term is “up to him.”

Ryan’s statements on Friday reminded many Americans of when he was running against Biden in the 2020 Democratic primary election. During this time, Ryan made the case that a younger Democrat should be nominated, seeing as Biden was in “decline.”

Ultimately, Ryan isn’t the only one in his party to refuse to endorse Biden when asked. Rep. Cori Bush (D-MS), Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) are just a handful of Democrats who’ve declined to say they’d support a Biden 2024 candidacy.

Age Limits For Public Office?
Ryan’s comments about the need for “generational change” in politics come amid a recent survey showing strong support for age limits for holding elected office.

Of the Americans who support age limits, 70 is the most popular proposed cut-off point. As Biden holds the mantle as the oldest president to serve, he’s also been making gaffes while speaking, carrying around flashcards, and oftentimes appearing to forget where he is in given moments.

Thus far, the White House has not responded to Ryan’s comments about Biden seeking another term in the 2024 presidential election.
