Mysterious Object That Closed Montana Airspace Shot Down Over Great Lakes

The airspace over Montana was briefly closed Saturday after another unidentified flying object was spotted flying over the space. The same object was downed over the Great Lakes the following day.

The object shot down over Lake Huron is likely the same one that closed down Montana’s airspace Saturday. The closure of a 2,500 square-mile area around Havre, Montana was confirmed by Sen. Matt Rosendale (R-MT).

Following the sighting and the airspace closure, the object was shot down over Lake Huron Sunday. The temporary shutdown included sending fighter aircraft to determine the cause of a radar anomaly. Defense officials stayed in contact with Montana’s elected officials during the closure.

The closure followed purported downings of unidentified flying objects over northern Alaska and northern Canada. U.S. officials believe that each object was likely a balloon, though there has been no official confirmation from the Pentagon.

Fox News cited an interview by Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY). The Senate majority leader said that the object was significantly smaller than the balloon shot down off the coast of South Carolina.

The most recent shoot down makes four mysterious objects downed by the American military in the span of fewer than two weeks.

Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK), speaking to the Alaska state legislature this week, called the recent changes the start of a challenge that could last “decades.” He called on the United States to “face it with strategic resolve and confidence.”

Sullivan, like many Republicans in Congress, has called for more answers from the White House about the unidentified flying objects.

Much of the suspicion centers around possible Chinese spy missions.

However, the objects over the U.S. and Canada may not be the only ones in the sky. China announced a possible unidentified object off of its coast.

Chinese state media announced the discovery of an object off its Pacific Coast near the city of Rizhao Sunday. China said that it was preparing to shoot down the object.
