Musk Predicts Trump Landslide If Indicted

Following the major news that former President Donald Trump may be indicted by the Manhattan district attorney’s office, billionaire businessman Elon Musk predicted that if such an event occurred, the former president would win the 2024 election in a landslide.

Musk, the owner of Twitter, made the prediction Saturday following Trump’s announcement on Truth Social that he would be arrested on Tuesday.

“If this happens, Trump will be re-elected in a landslide victory,” he wrote.

Musk, who recently reclaimed the title of the richest person in the world, defended the former president. The Tesla founder gained additional notoriety last year after unbanning a number of conservative accounts on Twitter and releasing a large amount of correspondence between Twitter’s former staff and Democratic Party officials.

Trump indicated that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s (D) office would indict him Tuesday. The former president wrote about the situation on Truth Social.

The 45th president said that he believed that he would be indicted due to what he described as “ILLEGAL LEAKS.”

Trump called the district attorney’s office “CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL” and that Bragg is “FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS.” He also wrote that allegations against him were “FULLY DEBUNKED.”

Musk echoed the former president’s comments, writing on Twitter that wealthy political donor George Soros “figured out a clever arbitrage opportunity.” Soros donated $1 million to Bragg’s 2021 political campaign.

The former president called on supporters to protest and “TAKE OUR NATION BACK!”

A spokesman for the former president clarified that there has been no formal indication of an arrest by the Manhattan district attorney’s office yet other than “illegal leaks.”

The district attorney’s office investigated claims that Trump had a brief relationship with adult actress Stormy Daniels prior to becoming president and allegations of a non-disclosure agreement.

Bragg entered into office at the start of 2022 after previously serving as an assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York.

Conservative critics previously accused Bragg of not being strict enough regarding crime in general. In particular, the district attorney received criticism for releasing a shoplifter that had 122 arrests without bail before trial.

Manhattan last had a Republican district attorney in 1941.
