IRS Whistleblower Challenges Biden Legal Team’s Tactics

In the unfolding drama surrounding Hunter Biden and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the spotlight turns toward the whistleblowers who dare to defy the narrative set by the Biden family’s attorneys. Joseph Ziegler, an IRS whistleblower, spoke out on Monday’s episode of “Jesse Watters Primetime.” He said, “The Biden family attorneys have given up on arguing the facts anymore and now have decided their best defense is to muzzle us and intimidate us, and it’s not going to work.”

Hunter Biden filed a lawsuit against the IRS on Monday, alleging that the tax agency sought to “embarrass” him. He sued the IRS just days after facing federal firearms charges for reportedly lying about his drug use in 2018. At a time when his father is on the campaign trail for re-election, this case adds fuel to the fire of public distrust.

The lawsuit, which claims that IRS agents violated Hunter Biden’s right to privacy, is perceived by critics as an attempt to shift focus away from the central issues. Ziegler emphasized that they won’t be silenced and noted, “We’re not going to distract from the mountains of evidence that is coming forward to the House Ways and Means Committee.”

Gary Shapley, another IRS whistleblower, and his legal team responded to the lawsuit with similar sentiments, stating, “This suit against the IRS is just another frivolous smear by Biden family attorneys trying to turn people’s attention away from Hunter Biden’s own legal problems and intimidate any current and future whistleblowers.”

What’s striking is the whistleblowers’ allegation that Biden-appointed U.S. attorneys refused to bring charges against Hunter. Ziegler and Shapley have also testified that political appointees interfered in the case, preventing them from probing financial links between Hunter and his father. This could undermine the credibility of the Department of Justice, casting a shadow over its commitment to unbiased legal procedures.

William “Widge” Devaney, a former federal prosecutor, opined that Hunter Biden’s suit could be less about the money and more about political pushback. He noted, “The IRS is allowing them to go on television. They’re allowing them to give various statements to the press, which is beyond what they’re entitled to do under the whistleblower statutes.” But the question remains: If the allegations against Hunter are baseless, why such an aggressive stance against the whistleblowers?

The courts will decide the legal merits of the cases. However, the court of public opinion is another matter. As Joe Biden’s re-election campaign continues, the American public must stay focused on fact-based scrutiny, not be led astray by legal maneuvering. One thing is clear: Whistleblowers like Ziegler and Shapley are intent on ensuring that justice is neither muzzled nor intimidated.
