GOP Senators To White House: Get Serious About Border

Several GOP senators are calling on the Biden White House to finally step up and secure our southern border. Last year saw the number of border arrests and deportations double.

Joe Biden has been a disaster on border security. The most recent statements by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) is not the first time senate Republicans harshly rebuked the White House on the issue.

This also followed the statement by Mississippi Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R) that Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lost track of 150,000 illegal immigrants.

The move comes as frustration with Biden’s border policy reaches new heights. When the president went to the border two weeks ago, the migrants were moved to cover up the daily reality.

Many towns and cities along the border have tens of thousands of migrants pass through them. This results in major strains on local police forces, social services and the local economy. The results are often terrible for these communities.

Even with all of these negative consequences, those in Washington haven’t tackled the border crisis. The surge in illegal immigrants also means a sharp increase in drug dealing and cartel activity.

Given the recent large spike in cartel violence in Mexico, this could lead to disaster.

This leads the American public to the next question: what is Joe Biden going to do about it? The president has not enforced border security and canceled construction of Donald Trump’s border wall.

Joe Biden was not elected because he was strong on border security. However, he can take his job in the White House seriously and use whatever means are necessary to secure our open southern border.

This is a major topic among potential Republican candidates for the White House. Whether it is former President Donald Trump talking about bombing cartels or Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) sending migrants to blue states and cities, it’s on everyone’s mind.

Most likely, the Republican Party’s voters will choose the candidate who they feel is strongest on illegal immigration and border security.
